My approach to interaction design is iterative and collaborative.
My approach to interaction design is iterative and collaborative.
Starting with the goal(s) for the eLearning course, I brainstorm ideas with scriptwriters, SMEs, or other teammates for interactions that will deepen learner engagement and comprehension. My goal is for learners to not simply reiterate what they've memorized, but to practice skills and understand how these concepts apply to others and themselves.
Once we have a clear vision for the interaction, I will mock up ideas in photoshop. At this stage, the look and feel for the different states (hover, selected, etc) are decided. These prototypes go through rounds of review and redesign before the various elements are moved into Articulate Storyline, where they are programmed to respond to user interactions.
Next, I enlist the help of QA testers to ensure the UI is intuitive, and will not cause any confusion for learners after product launch.
