Learning Goals:
Innovation and creativity (determination, testing & evaluating design, etc)
How a bird's wing structure and shape affects flight
Paper collage skills
Science of tension and compression
Paper construction skills
As the primary designer of this project, I built prototypes and then conducted preliminary usability testing with groups of campers over Zoom. After testing I made redesigns to the sculpture's construction and the lesson plan. Finally, I produced the written curriculum, a teaching outline, step-by-step instructional video for teachers, and sample images — all the resources instructors would need to successfully teach this course.
